Purpose:
The Purpose for the website is to help expand the knowledge of the Organization & Gallery to the community.
Organizational Information
The Lenaweee Council for the Visual Arts (LCVA) was organized in December of 1998 for the purpose of:
- providing opportunities for visual artists in Lenawee County
- fostering pride and involvement in the local community
- developing an audience for the visual arts
- encouraging community support for the visual arts
- to create a centralized network that will promote the activities of local visual art groups and artists
Some of the proposed activities for the LCVA include: sponsorship of a member's co-op gallery, sponsorship of public art and art exhibits, cooperations in the viual arts component of Downtown Adrian's Maple City Fest, educational opportunities and scholarships for local students, gallery exhibits and artist demonstrations.
The LCVA is a membership organization funded by member dues adn contributions. The oraganization is governed by a Board of Directors elected annually by the membership.
Membership is open to any individual, business or organization interested in promoting the visual arts in Lenawee County.
In addition to members' duties, the LCVA relies on general contributions for operations and special projects. The LCVA is a 501(c)3 organization under the Internal Revenue Code and contributions are tax deductible in the manner and to the extent provided by law.
